Matthew Knowles May Join American Idol

The Wall Street Journal's reporting that Beyonce's daddy may be Simon's replacement-if he decides to leave the show. As the ninth season of American Idol debuts January 12 on Fox, executives are unsure if Simon will return. Apparently, Simon, the creator behind Brittan's "The X Factor", may leave the show in order to begin filming "The X Factor" for Fox in September 2011-if this happens, there'll be an open slot for a judge.

Always looking to cash-in on other projects, Matthew Knowles may be a good choice, but first he'll have to beat out the competition that includes: Antonio "LA" Reid, Kenneth "Babyface" Evans, and Russell Simmons to get the coveted slot.

Now that Paula has left, and Simon possibly will be next, we don't know how long this franchise is actually going to last- aside from the first two weeks, who's actually watching the competition anymore?
